Northwest Diné Jewelry was born from a simple desire: for me, a Tlingit Formline artist, to create unique art for my wife to wear. That simple act has since blossomed into a true artistic partnership.
My wife, a talented Diné (Navajo) artist and creator, is the inspiration and a guiding voice in our entire design process. While the primary artistic style is rooted in my Tlingit heritage, her spirit, her aesthetic, and sometimes her own handiwork are woven into everything we do.
Our brand is the story of our life together—a fusion of the Pacific Northwest and the Desert Southwest, a conversation between two powerful cultures. Every piece is a testament to our partnership, handcrafted by us in our Washington studio.
Our Collections
1. The Formline Collection
This is the foundation of our work. Earrings featuring a single, powerful Formline figure, each piece is laser-cut from authentic Western Red Cedar and meticulously hand-painted. This collection is the pure, modern expression of classic Tlingit design principles.
2. The Cascade Collection
Named for the Cascade mountains and the way these pieces cascade down when worn, this collection explores complexity and visual rhythm. Multiple, interlocking Formline elements are layered to create a more intricate and dynamic design.
3. The Signature Collection: Formline + Beadwork
This is where our two worlds meet. The definitive example of Northwest Diné Jewelry, this special collection is the culmination of our collaboration. Here, my hand-painted cedar Formline is united with the vibrant, meticulous beadwork of my wife, blending Tlingit form with Diné artistry.
An Exclusive, Small-Batch Collection
To honor the spirit of true craftsmanship, our jewelry is created in small, dedicated batches and is not available for direct purchase online at this time. We believe the best way to experience the detail and energy of these pieces is in person.
